Tracy Carlin Presents Webinar On Pass-Through Jurisdiction
Board certified attorney Tracy Carlin, a longtime fixture in Florida appellate circles and Of Counsel for Brannock & Humphries, was the featured speaker at this month’s webinar series hosted by the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section.
Ms. Carlin spoke on the intricacies of pass-through jurisdiction, a narrow and frequently misunderstood procedural tool for fast-tracking important cases and issues to Florida’s Supreme Court. The impetus for Ms. Carlin’s presentation was a comprehensive article she wrote on the topic that was featured in the Florida Bar Journal.
During her presentation, Ms. Carlin addressed how to best employ pass-through jurisdiction and discussed the factors that appellate courts consider when determining whether a case is appropriate to pass through to the Supreme Court. She also fielded numerous questions from the engaged audience.
