Joseph Eagleton

Joe Eagleton is a shareholder at the firm, focusing his practice on complex commercial disputes and significant family law appeals.  Board certified in appellate practice, he has handled appeals in all of Florida’s appellate courts, as well as in the Federal and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal.  In just his second year of practice at the firm, Joe argued and won an important consumer-finance case at the Florida Supreme Court.

Before joining the firm, Joe served as the Senior Staff Attorney for Florida Supreme Court Justice Barbara J. Pariente, working on some of the state’s most high-profile civil and criminal appeals.  Joe is a past recipient of the Florida Bar Journal’s “Excellence in Writing” award, and he has been repeatedly recognized as a “Rising Star,” an “Up and Comer,” and “One to Watch” for appellate practice and commercial litigation by publications like Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Trend Legal Elite, and Best Lawyers.  Joe is a leader in the state and local appellate bars: he currently serves as an officer for the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, and he was the longtime chair of Hillsborough County’s appellate section.  Joe is also serving a three-year term on the Florida Supreme Court committee that is responsible for overseeing the standard jury instructions used in contract and business cases.

Joe enjoys outdoor activities, including jogging and golf, and traveling with his wife and young son.  He is a passionate baseball fan and has visited ball fields all around the country.  His dog Wrigley pays homage to his favorite ballpark, Wrigley Field in Chicago.
